A counting or inspection function intended to distinguish a two-unit product presentation from a single tablet event.
Also called: double product detection; double detect; double-item detection.
Which two-tablet presentations can be detected?
It should identify the two-unit presentation and the system’s response. Two adjacent tablets, partial overlap and complete obscuration are different cases. A label alone does not show which one was recognised.
A detection rule may use the duration of a dark interval, while another arrangement evaluates a different optical response. Neither mechanism alone proves that every pair, orientation or degree of overlap can be distinguished.
Does recognising a double mean it was counted twice or rejected?
Those are different possible responses. A system may assign two units, flag an invalid presentation or initiate rejection according to its design. Confirm the response for the actual product pair and presentation rather than inferring it from a double-detection label.
For each assessed pair, record its presentation, the inspection decision and any downstream action. A dark-time setting describes the rule, while these observations establish its response.
