A machine that orients empty bottles and feeds them upright onto a production line.
Also called: bottle unscrambling; bottle orienter; bottle orientation.
Does bottle unscrambling also clean the bottle?
Unscrambling orients empty bottles and presents them upright for the next operation. Cleaning is a separate function that may be integrated or provided by another unit. The name unscrambler does not establish which cleaning operation is included.
Specify the required bottle presentation and any cleaning task as separate line functions. If cleaning is included, ask which operation and evidence are supplied. An upright bottle at the outfeed is evidence of orientation, not proof of its internal cleanliness or sterility.
Can one unscrambler handle every bottle in the same size range?
Diameter alone does not describe the handling geometry. A machine configured for round bottles need not accept square bottles within the same nominal diameter range. Retain the actual shape and proposed handling parts with the bottle drawing.
Ask how the selected bottle is transferred upright to the receiving conveyor and which adjustments or parts change between formats. Review the delivered bottle stream at the intended operating condition, including downstream demand. A maximum unscrambler output does not establish that the complete filling line achieves the same bottle rate.
